MY STORY

The Texas heat made breathing difficult. Truth be told, every breath was hard since his death. Everything was a blur of images, condolences, and rituals that blanketed the still-living like a fog settling in the middle of the night. No longer did I know who I was since my definitions of “me” were wife, partner, lover, and friend. These no longer existed. I was alone. He left me alone in this world.
